The festival Veranos del Taoro moves for the first time in its history one of its shows to Barcelona. On June 21, the Gran Teatre del Liceu will host the only performance in the city of New Worlds, a show that fuses literature and music with the participation of American actor Bill Murray and German cellist Jan Vogler.
New Worlds offers a unique stage experience where European classical music and American literature intertwine. The quartet is completed by violinist Mira Wang and pianist Vanessa Pérez, in a production that has achieved notable international success and can now be enjoyed in such an emblematic setting as the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
The magic of New Worlds was born from a chance meeting between Bill Murray and Jan Vogler during a transatlantic flight. Their friendship gave rise to this show, which combines texts by authors such as Mark Twain and Ernest Hemingway with pieces by Bach, Schubert and Bernstein, demonstrating the versatility of Murray, who performs both songs and literary texts, accompanied by first-rate musicians.
This event comes to the city thanks to the collaboration and production of Clipper’s Group, which, together with Veranos del Taoro, makes it possible for the Barcelona public to enjoy this unique show, thus reinforcing the joint commitment to first class international culture.
Tickets are already available through the official sales channel of Clipper’s Group.
