After his performance at Benidorm Fest 2025 with “Amor Barato”, David Afonso returns with strength with his new single “Tanto para qué”, a song that delves into the emotional nuances of a love breakup, fusing Latin pop with salsa, always with his characteristic Canarian accent.

The song was presented live for the first time on April 18 at the emblematic venue La Riviera in Madrid, as part of the PrePartyES25 organized by Eurovision-Spain. There, the audience witnessed the premiere of a proposal that continues to consolidate David Afonso as one of the most promising voices of Latin pop made from the islands.

“Tanto para qué” is a song with body, rhythm and a careful production that bets for the organic and the essential. Nothing is left over. There are no unnecessary effects. David’s clear and direct voice makes its way through percussions and metals that refer to the live sound, providing a fresh and authentic energy.

With phrases like “tanta bulla para nada” or “confieso que me jode solo hablarte en mi cabeza”, Afonso portrays with honesty the contained rage, the nostalgia and the need to close wounds after a story that did not end as expected. The song is an invitation to dance from the relief.
