This week, the names of those who were selected to take part in the 14th edition of the Girando Por Salas (GPS) series were announced, and the rock band Montana will be part of this exciting adventure with a selection of twenty-two groups and soloists of different musical styles who have been chosen to participate in this programme aimed at supporting popular music in Spain.

In this edition, the group made up of Rober Une, Guillermo Shelly, Ekain Alzola, Dani Thomas and Jon Fresko has been selected from a total of eight hundred and sixty-eight participants who fulfilled the requirements of the call for entries. Montana’s incorporation into #GPS14 is a recognition of their talent and the commitment they have shown to their music.

The main aim of the Girando Por Salas cycle is to support emerging talents on the Spanish music scene, encouraging their expression and promotion beyond their natural areas of influence, and promoting their professionalisation in the industry. It is an initiative of the Instituto Nacional de las Artes Escénicas y de la Música (INAEM) of the Ministry of Culture and Sport, in collaboration with the Federación Coordinadora del Circuito de Músicas Populares (FCMP), which includes professional associations such as ACCES, APM, ARC, ARTE, MUSICAT, PROMUSICAE and UFI.

Montana presents itself as a “force of nature” that is here to stay on the music scene. Their music, as described by the band members, “cannot be explained, it can only be felt”. It is a band that is characterised by its ability to blend diverse musical influences into a sound that is uniquely their own. The group has created an elegant musical proposal, with incisive lyrics and mixing multiple styles that we will be able to enjoy live in many places over the next year thanks to Girando Por Salas.
